"Today in History"

December 18th 2011 marks exactly one year of our very first big wedding decor. We had the pleasure to meet Sougling and Quinten Craanberg-Wong back in June 2010. They requested our decor and management service and we had a long chat that first time. Inspiracion Curacao was new in the business and being this the first big event, brought a lot of pressure.

We managed to inspire confidence and were committed to deliver an elegant executed decor.

We remember all those days before the event: rushing with carpenter, rushing for decor-items, rushing the Fed-ex delivery, rushing the many details that had to be taken care of.

48 hours prior the event, we engaged in wrapping 150 boxes with silver and blue glossy paper. A team of 2 (Keir & Maria) took that job. At 3.00 in the morning we started making all the bows for the gifts.

The venue was available after 8 am, so our delivery guys (Regi- Juan-Antonio - Edgar) had the truck full for delivery which took them a total of 3 hours and 3 fully loaded trucks.

At the venue (Sta. Catharina Resort) our team of 4 (Sharrey - Sharvelo - Keir - Alex) engaged in converting the 3 areas of the venue in a reception hall.

The design was 'White Christmas' and accents of Royal Blue. The patio was arranged with chairs and tables for comfortable seating. The second area which we named: "The Christmas Garden" got 15 pine trees and lots of gifts and a couple of reindeer silhouettes for added drama.
The last area was converted in a dance hall, got royal blue drapes that covered the entire wall. We managed to incorporate a mini lounge area and a cheese-table in this room.

The guests danced all night along on the music of the band Happy Peanuts and enjoyed the "hora loca" with our handmade giant Cotiyones (large Colombian sombrero).

The breakdown of this decor was very tough and went in history as the most exciting, most tough and the first big decor delivered. Special thanks to our team Gera - Minerva - Sharvelo - Keir - Alex, for the ongoing support as we entered the early hours of the morning.
